PERITO MORENO

Antarctica: Neko harbor on the coast of Antarctica is perhaps the most wondrous site for glacier lovers. The base of the harbor is where gigantic glaciers pressurized by the snow weight from above keep falling in shapes of several hundred feet thick walls into the ocean. Deafening and crashing sounds of glaciers can be heard form even a distance of 500 feet. Brown Station is not very far from Neko Bay and is located on Paradise Bay where you will find Argentine Antarctic Research Center. When Paradise Bay gets very cold the scenic view of glaciers is spectacular.
Biafo Glacier
Biafo Glacier is located in the Karakorum Range close to Gilgit in Pakistan. This area includes many other breathtaking mountains including K2 and Nanga Parbat which are rated among the highest peaks in the world. Karakoram Range is considered part of the great Himalayas.
Glaciers are receding in these regions at an alarming rate but still the magnificent view and adventurous exploration tempt tourists of all ages and regions of the world to visit Karakorum Range. In order to reach the 10 mile wide snow lake, expert mountaineers will reveal that they seek the risk-taking challenge of accessing this remote glacier. You are advised to ask for assistance from local embassies for lists of these areas and maps or inquire for a guide.
